A coordinator for a vocational rehabilitation customer had contacted the IATP maker program in search of an adjustable typing stick that is no longer commercially available. Luckily the IATP demonstration center had a product that was similar to the one they were looking for. After consultation with the customer, the Maker team incorporated specific features that would meet the customer’s needs. They printed and tested a few different variations, giving the customer more access and options. They designed it to clasp over the users hand with different positioning options for the typing stick and they also created a version that will attach to the users hand using Velcro to help the device stay in place. Once the maker team had finalized designs they were tested by the customer who was highly satisfied with the final products.
