How Contributions Work

Submitting an improved design takes just a few minutes. Files are reviewed by our team before being added to the library.

1

Improve a Design

Remix or refine an existing file from our library — or contribute something entirely new that solves an accessibility need.

2

Upload Your File

Use the form below to upload your file and include a brief description of what you changed and why.

3

We Review It

Our team checks the file for quality and accessibility fit. We'll follow up if we have questions.

4

It Goes Live

Approved files are added to the resource library with attribution, available to everyone in the network.

Common Questions

What file formats can I upload?

STL is the only file format we accept at this time. If your design software exports a different format, please convert to STL before uploading.

Do I need to be an Illinois resident?

No. Our library is open to contributors from anywhere. IATP is an Illinois program, but the makerspace network welcomes volunteers nationwide.

Will I receive credit for my contribution?

Yes. Approved files are listed with your name (or a handle if you prefer) unless you request to remain anonymous.

What if my design isn't approved?

We'll let you know why and, where possible, what changes would get it there. We want to work with contributors, not just reject submissions.
