Meredith with her phone attachment on her Quantum chair waving at the camera

Meredith enjoys being active and spending time in nature. Her hobby is taking pictures, primarily of sunsets, but she loves taking pictures of all things. Meredith visited IATP to seek devices helpful for someone with multiple sclerosis. She met with the Demonstration Center staff for a general tour, and she was introduced to the Makers Program for a specific device request.

Meredith has jerky movements, which makes it challenging to take still pictures. Since she uses a power wheelchair, the Makers team decided to fabricate an attachment to her chair that can stabilize her phone while providing flexibility for the angle needed for the picture. A recycled gooseneck mount was used for the attachment, along with a 3D-printed phone stabilizer and elastic strap to secure the phone. Meredith was extremely excited to use her new device to take pictures of daily sunsets.
